READFIELD — Maranacook rallied from a five-run deficit to tie it in the bottom of the seventh, then won it in the bottom of the eighth when Connor Ireland drove home Jason Brooks with a double for the comeback 9-8 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B baseball win over Maine Central Institute on Friday.

Greg Vigue’s bases-clearing triple gave the Huskies (3-12) the five-run lead. But the Black Bears (9-6) scored two in the bottom of the sixth, then tied it on Mark Buzzell’s two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the seventh. Buzzell had three hits for Maranacook.

RICHMOND 10, VALLEY 6: Zach Small had a double, two singles and four RBIs to lead the Bobcats to the East-West Conference win in Bingham.

Small, a freshman, also earned the pitching win. Tyler Soucy chipped in with three singles for Richmond (13-2) while Cam Emmons and Curtis Anderson had two singles each.

Nathan Ames led Valley (6-5) with three singles and three RBIs. Cody Laweryson added two singles and an RBI and Luke Malloy had two singles.

OCEANSIDE 3, ERSKINE 1: Oceanside scored three unearned runs in the fourth inning and Nick Mazurek made them stand up in a KVAC B win in South China.

Mazurek scattered four hits over seven innings, striking out five and walking none for Oceanside (13-2). Cody Beaudoin doubled and drove in the only run for the Eagles (9-6). Caleb Cummings tripled and scored the run.

BOYS LACROSSE

 

OAK HILL 10, CAMDEN HILLS 4: Alex Mace had three goals and one assist to lead the Raiders to the Eastern B win in Rockport.

Kaleb Sturtevant and Matt Gilbert added two goals apiece for Oak Hill (4-7) while Brendon Tervo, Steven Gilbert and Darryn Bailey had one goal each. Matty Martin made 12 saves.

For Camden Hills (5-7), Calvin Cameron scored twice while Elliot Matlack and Marcus D’Amato had one goal each. James Orne stopped 16 shots.

CONY 13, OXFORD HILLS 5: Brett Sproul scored five goals to spark the Rams to the Eastern A win in South Paris.

Joel Bennett added three goals for Cony (5-7) while Anthony Sousa, Liam Stokes, Tyler Sproul and Logan Testerman had one goal each. Cam Gallant made 14 saves.

MESSALONSKEE 14, MT. ARARAT 6: Dylan Burton scored a pair of goals and assisted on four others to power Messalonskee past Mt. Ararat in Topsham.

Austin Pelletier added four goals for Messalonskee (7-4), while Will Weeks, Dylan Jones and Connor Smith chipped in with two apiece.

Charlie Gill made 13 saves for Mt. Ararat (4-7) in the loss.

OCEANSIDE 10, ERSKINE 1: Kalyn Grover had a double and the Mariners took advantage of eight Erskine errors to win the KVAC B game in South China.

Oceanside improves to 12-3 while Eskine falls to 8-7.

CONY 7, BANGOR 5: Autumn Sudsbury belted a two-run single in the sixth to help Cony rally from a 5-4 deficit and defeat Bangor in Bangor.

Sudsbury ended up with three singles and four RBIs on the day for Cony (13-3). Arika Brochu picked up her 11th win of the season in the circle. Sarah Bragg tripled and Emily Gilmore doubled for Bangor (13-2).

RICHMOND 26, VALLEY 8, 5 innings: Meranda Martin went 6-for-6 with three triples, one double, two singles and six RBIs as the Bobcats rolled over the Cavaliers in Bingham.

Kelsea Anair added two singles, two doubles and five RBIs for Richmond (14-0), while Leann Bryant and Kalah Patterson had three hits apiece.

Charlie Savoy had a single and a triple for Valley (1-11).
