An AARP Maine Fraud Watch Scam Jam is set for 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Augusta Civic Center, 76 Community Drive, Augusta.
Attendees can learn about common scam/fraud in Maine right now and what to do to avoid becoming a victim at the free event, according to a news release from AARP Fraud Watch Network.
Maine Attorney General Janet Mills will be the keynote speaker. Guest speakers will include U.S. Postal Inspector Michael Desrosiers, and representatives from The Bureau of Consumer Credit Protection, The Office of Securities and AARP Maine.
Participants have their choice of breakout sessions. Both a free breakfast and lunch will be provided.
