PITTSTON — The Pittston Literary & Historical Society will host a combined open house and cleaning bee beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 13. Members will provide tours and discuss local history to visitors. As time permits and between tours, members will perform spring cleaning, routine maintenance and some light duty painting projects.
Attendees can learn about town history or contribute to preserving the only original (1816) school building that is regularly open to the public. Volunteers are needed and additional information is available by calling Laura Walentine at 582-2557.
