JEFFERSON — Good Shepherd Food Bank’s Food Mobile will distribute food, including fresh produce, meat, essential non-perishable items, and breads to people in need in the Jefferson area.

Anyone in need of emergency food assistance in Jefferson and the surrounding area is welcome between 3 and 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at Jefferson Village School, 48 Washington Road.

This distribution has been made possible through the generosity of the Elizabeth Ann Leach Charitable Trust, according to a news release from Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program.

The Jefferson Food Pantry closed in December 2014. Community members have been meeting to discuss the need for a food pantry for the Jefferson and Somerville communities.
