AUGUSTA — Juries convicted one man and cleared another in separate trials held this week at the Capital Judicial Center. A Mercer man was convicted by a jury Tuesday of operating under the influence and failing to stop for an officer.

Timothy R. Yoder, 56, was sentenced to two days in jail and fined $600. His driver’s license was suspended for 150 days.

The verdict came at the close of a 1 1/2-day trail at the Capital Judicial Center.

According to the complaint, a woman at a convenience store in Smithfield reported a drunken driver to a Maine Game Warden.

The warden stopped Yoder in Waterville on July 1, 2014.

In a separate trial Wednesday, Darrin W. Cates, 45, of Winslow, was cleared of a charge of violating a condition of release. A jury found him not guilty following a short deliberation. He was accused of failing to give a written change-of-address notice and possessing a computer or data storage. The judge acquitted him of the address portion, and the jury cleared him of the remainder.
