The Palermo Community Library will kick of its The Summer Jazz Concert Series with The Jesse Feinberg Project at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 29. The trio includes Jesse Feinberg on piano, Duane Edwards on upright bass and Mai Kheet on drums.

Feinberg is an experienced performance pianist, and teacher who has studied many forms of music for the last 34 years. He plays a large array of styles, ranging from Classical, Jazz Standards, R&B, soul, funk and blues, to alternative rock, world music styles of Latin America, Middle-Eastern, and Far-Eastern Music, according to a news release from the library.

Feinberg has freelanced with various groups and has given performances for The Noonday Concert Series, The Back Cove Festival, The Maine Jazz Camp at UMO, The Woodford Street Church, Mayo Street Performance Center, MJ’s Wine Bar, The Dogfish Bar and Grille, PortCity Blue, The Portland Club, The Westin Hotel, Brian Boru’s, Gingko Blue, The First Friday Art Walk at The Empire Dine and Dance, The Harraseeket Inn, Charlamagne’s, The Governor Hill’s Mansion, Cornerstone in Ogunquit and many more.

The free event begins with a Music Workshop for children of all ages at 5:30 p.m.; sandwiches and refreshments are included. Due to limited capacity, reservations are appreciated. The Palermo Community Library received a grant from the Oak Grove Foundation to fund Summer Jazz at the Library and the series continues on July 27 with the Mai Kheet Band and concludes on Aug. 24 with Oirteht.
