AUGUSTA — A horse shoe tournament is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, at the CARA Recreation Center, Piggery Road. The tournament, a fundraiser, is open to the public. Cost is $20. Good pitchers will be matched with those not so good on the basis of a luck of the draw, according to a news release from the legion.

There will be a cash payout for the top four teams. Lunch and strawberry shortcake will be sold to benefit veterans, children and youth served by the wartime veterans of the American Legion Post 2 in Augusta.
