FREEPORT — Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe will soon visit Maine for the Democratic Party’s annual summer fundraiser.

The Democratic governor is headlining the party’s Muskie Lobster Bake on Sunday Aug. 9. Emily Cain, who’s running for the 2nd Congressional District seat, legislative leaders and other party faithful will join him for the event at Wolfe’s Neck Farm in Freeport.

Maine Democratic Party Chairman Phil Bartlett says McAuliffe is a “tenacious leader” within the party and a “champion of progressive values.” He says that supporters are excited to hear McAuliffe discuss how to build a strong economy that benefits the middle class.

Last year’s headliner at the Muskie Lobster Bake was Democratic strategist James Carville.

Tickets for this year’s event start at $65 per person.
