Friends and neighbors around the lake are encouraged to attend Echo Lake Association’s annual meeting Saturday, Aug. 8. Those who attend can gather at 4 p.m. for conversation, laughter, finger food and home baked sweets at Fayette Central School on Route 17, according to a news release from the association. Following the social half-hour, the business meeting is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
This year, as noted in recent ELA newsletters, members plan to discuss the possibility of conducting a watershed survey in the coming years. A watershed survey can help the association maintain the quality of the lake and protect the value of owner’s properties.
A proposal also will be made for changes at the dam which will make it safer and easier for the dam committee to regulate lake level, according to the release.
Parking at the school is limited, though people can park at the library and on Tom Surry Road opposite the school (one side only).
Through its water quality monitoring program, courtesy boat inspections, invasive plant patrol and other efforts, the association strives to maintain the quality of Echo Lake and welcomes the assistance and input of all lake property owners, according to the release.
