READFIELD — A special evening, featuring a presentation about Mount Everest & the Nepalese People, is planned for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, in the old Readfield Grange, 12 Church Road. Carol “Ruby” Rubin will share her tales and pictures of her trek to Everest Base Camp the day before the 2014 largest Avalanche in its history, according to a news release from Rubin.
After the presentation, singer/songwriter Matt Venuti will play his unique Swiss-made instruments, followed by a selection of appetizers and liquid refreshments.
Business casual attire is encouraged. The cost is $20. Proceeds will benefit the Maple Tree Community School in the old Readfield Grange.
