ST. DAVID — Two employees at a Maine potato company have been accused of taking thousands of dollars’ worth of stolen potatoes over the last 4½ years and selling them to local businesses and residents in the St. John Valley area.
Police say an investigation by Cyr Potato Corp. in St. David led to the discovery that about $45,000 worth of stolen potatoes had been sold.
The employees have been charged with theft and are scheduled for a court date in November.
