Ranger Kent Nelson from the Maine State Forestry Department presented an informative program Tuesday, Aug. 4, to the Kennebec Valley Garden Club at the Viles Mansion in Augusta. Nelson gave a talk about “Planting in Your Landscape to Prevent Fires,” one of the programs shared by the Forest Protection Division to make communities aware of fire risks when constructing and landscaping in a home zone.
