The Augusta Kiwanis Club recently completed phase one of a new playground at MaineGeneral Medical Center Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. The new playground was the brainchild of Kim Michaud, past club president, who spearheaded the fundraising and building of the playground. The playground fits into the mission of Kiwanis International which focuses on serving children one child and one community at a time.

The playground was built with donations from the Kiwanis International Foundation, the Kiwanis Foundation of New England, the Kennebec Valley Board of Realtors, Augusta Rotary Club and many other local businesses and personal contributions.

At a recent ribbon cutting ceremony for the playground MaineGeneral CEO Chuck Hays thanked the club for their efforts and hoped that children will get years of enjoyment from this new playground.
