A 16-year-old Pittston girl was injured in a car crash when she lost control of her vehicle and it hit a tree Tuesday morning along Route 194 in Pittston, police said.

Jada Lin, 16, was driving on Route 194 when her car went off the edge of the pavement and she steered left to return to the road, said Deputy Chief Ryan Reardon, of the Kennebec County Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle crossed over the road and ran into a large tree on the other side, Reardon said.

The crash was reported at 11:23 p.m.

Lin was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta by Gardiner Ambulance Service, Reardon said. The car’s other occupant refused medical treatment but complained of shoulder pain, he said.

No charges are expected, Reardon said.
