Mark Ettinger was on Kennebunk Beach on Tuesday afternoon when he spotted one of the better-known locals: Barbara Bush.
The former first lady, who is 90, was walking with her dogs, using a walker with large wheels designed for the sand.
Ettinger, a local photographer, said in a note to the Portland Press Herald that Bush walked the length of the beach and back, at least twice. He said that in his 30 years living in Kennebunk, he had never seen Barbara Bush on the beach.
