FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Former teen idol David Cassidy’s Fort Lauderdale home is under contract for $1.8 million.

The Sun Sentinel reported that the 7,000-square-foot waterfront home was auctioned Wednesday by Fisher Auction Co. There were four bidders.

The deal must be approved by a judge next week.

Cassidy filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy case earlier this year. He purchased the house in 2001 for $1.1 million. The five-bedroom, six-bathroom house was appraised at $1.9 million.

Cassidy, 65, starred in “The Partridge Family” TV show.
