North Road in Mount Vernon will be closed for three days next week, prompting a 21-mile detour as the state Department of Transportation replaces a culvert.
The work will begin Monday about a half-mile southeast of the intersection of Fogg Road and North Road. Traffic will be detoured from North Road to Route 17 to Route 41 to Church Road, then back onto North Road.
North Road should be back open to traffic by Thursday, according to the release.
