AUGUSTA — Cony High School class of 1970 celebrated its community by making a donation of $830 to the nonprofit Augusta Colonial Theater.
“We wanted to give something to Augusta at our 45th reunion and decided the restoration of this theater, which holds great memories for us, is a perfect fit,” said Bobbi Leighton, Augusta resident and reunion planning committee member, in a news release from the reunion committee.
Members of the class toured the theater. In addition to the Colonial Theater tour, the weekend-long 45th reunion event included an informal evening at Pat’s Pizza in Augusta, a tour of the Cony flatiron building restoration and dinner, and singing and dancing at the Senator Inn.
