NEW YORK — Fordham University has rescinded an honorary degree it gave Bill Cosby in 2001, citing sexual assault allegations against him and the comedian’s admission that he obtained quaaludes to give to women with whom he hoped to have sex.

The University Board of Trustees voted Thursday to take back the degree in light of Cosby’s statements in a now-public court deposition.

Cosby admitted having extramarital relationships with several women, including some who now accuse him of sexual assault.

Cosby has not been charged with a crime.
