KENTS HILL — Trevor Guity rushed for three touchdowns and threw for two more as the Kents Hill School football team beat Hyde School (ME) 39-12 to snap a long losing streak dating back to the end of the 2013 season.

“It’s been 11 games and a year and a half pretty much,” Kents Hill coach Steve Shukie said. “It’s good to get a win.”

Hyde (0-3) jumped out to a 6-0 lead on a 15-yard run from Shemar Jackson before the Huskies (1-3) answered with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Guity to Manchester’s Luke Arsenault to tie it at 6-6 after the first quarter. The second quarter was all Kents Hill, though, as a Guity sandwiched a 4-yard scoring plunge around touchdown passes of 86 yards to Tory Brown and 10 yards to Arsenault, respectively.

Brown and Guity broke touchdown runs of 66 and 54 yards, respectively, to round out the scoring for the Huskies.

WINSLOW 63, HERMON 0: Trenton Bouchard ran 55 yards for a touchdown on Winslow’s first play from scrimmage, and the Black Raiders rolled to a Big Ten Conference win at Poulin Field in Winslow.

Winslow improved to 7-0. It was the Black Raiders’ fifth shutout in seven games. After Bouchard’s score, quarterback Jake Trask connected with Dylan Hutchinson for a 31-yard touchdown pass and a 14-0 lead.

Winslow led 41-0 midway through the second quarter. Hermon fell to 0-7.

WATERVILLE 16, JOHN BAPST 0: Demetrius Ramirez scored a pair of second half touchdowns to lead the Purple Panthers to the Big Ten Conference win at Drummond Field in Waterville.

Waterville (2-5) scored on a safety to lead 2-0 at the half. Cody Pellerin kicked both extra points for Waterville.

The loss was the sixth in a row for John Bapst (1-6).

BOYS SOCCER

WINTHROP 1, DIRIGO 0: Tyler Nussinow scored the game’s lone goal with 4:47 left in the first half to give Winthrop a narrow Mountain Valley Conference victory over Dirigo.

Ben Boulay picked up an assist on the goal. Jackson Ladd made eight saves to earn the shutout for Winthrop (3-8-2). Randy DeRoche stopped five shots for Dirigo (1-11-1).

GIRLS SOCCER

MARANACOOK 2, LEAVITT 1: Lauren Clough scored with eight minutes remaining in the second half to lift the Black Bears to a win over the Hornets in Readfield.

Lindsey Perkins had the other goal for Maranacook (3-8-2), while Amanda Poulin scored for Leavitt (6-3-4) in the first half.
