WATERVILLE — The Waterville Public Library will host a card-making event for veterans and their families from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at the library on 73 Elm St.

The library will provide the creativity supplies; people can make or sign a card of thanks and support to members of the Armed Forces, veterans and their families, according to a news release from the library. Some stamps will be available.

Cards can be addressed to a known veteran or any veteran. Those addressed to any veteran will be distributed to a group of veterans on a Maine Honor Flight with 45 veterans scheduled to return to Maine on Nov. 1. These veterans will receive mail they same way they did when they received mail from home when they were deployed abroad, according to the release.

For more information, contact the library at 872-5433.
