WINTHROP — Winthrop High School Rambler Robotics “W.Hi.R.R.” won the “Wicked Best BFFs” award at the “Mainely Spirit V,” the off-season event held Sept. 19 at Messalonskee High School in Oakland. This is awarded to the team who is the friendliest or most helpful, and is voted on by the teams in attendance, according to a news release from the Winthrop High School.

Mainely Spirit is a FIRST event hosted by the Messalonskee robotics team, Infinite Loop. Twenty-one teams from across New England competed in an environment of “gracious professionalism” and “cooperation,” principles that FIRST exemplifies. FIRST robotics teams demonstrate mutual support and kindness and help even those with whom they are competing.
