DENMARK — John Harlow will open a solo photography exhibition Friday at the Denmark Arts Center, 50 West Main St. The show is free and will run through Dec. 10. An opening reception is set for 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13.

Harlow, 26, who studied new media art at the University of Maine at Farmington, will show 10 22- by 16-inch color photographs mounted on black fiberboard.

“Through writing and photographs, this body of work reveals a part of rural social, cultural and economic experiences of Paula White. The writing aspect is by White, who looked at them and provided words to accompany the images,” Harlow said in a news release.

White and her husband John live on Chapman Ridge Road in Athens.

Harlow, an Athens native and Madison Area Memorial High School graduate, also makes videos and is station manager at Somerset Community Television, Channel 11, on Bee Line Cable-TV.
