A Lewiston woman was killed Monday morning after being hit by a pickup truck on a busy section of Lisbon Street.

Christine Beaulieu, 53, was killed in the collision, which was reported around 6:25 a.m. at 850 Lisbon St. She was hit by a truck driven by Gaeton Bergeron, 33, of Lewiston, said Lt. Adam Higgins.

Beaulieu was not in a crosswalk when she was hit, Higgins said. Bergeron, who was not injured, stopped and called 911.

“(Bergeron) was sober and did not appear to be distracted,” Higgins said.

Lisbon Street near the area of East Avenue was shut down to traffic for several hours while the crash was investigated.

Higgins said it is to early to determine if any charges will be filed in connection with the accident. He said a reconstruction of the crash could take several weeks to complete.
