SOUTH CHINA — Issac Witham scored a game-high 19 points, including 11 from the free throw line, and the Skowhegan boys basketball team pulled away from Erskine 49-36 in a Class A North game Friday night.

Witham made 11-of-12 free throws.

Cam Barnes scored 13 points and Brendan Curran added six for the Indians (1-2) as well.

Josh Reed scored nine points and Trevor Hubbard added six to pace the Eagles (0-3).

MESSALONSKEE 62, MEDOMAK VALLEY 57: After building an 11-point lead through three quarters, the Eagles held on for the Class A North win in Oakland.

James Lathrop led the way with 26 points, six rebounds and two steals for Messalonskee (2-1). James Kouletsis added nine points, seven rebounds and five assists while Kyle Lafreniere had 13 points and Sawyer Michaud chipped in with seven assists and five rebounds.

Nicholas DePatsy scored 21 points to lead Medomak Valley (2-1).

RANGELEY 90, NORTH HAVEN 24: Rangeley roared out to a 22-1 first-quarter lead and cruised to an East-West Conference win.

Kyle Larochelle led all scorers with 21 points for the Lakers (1-2). Carl Trafton added 15 points and Zach Trafton 10 for Rangeley. Mikael Stone led North Haven (0-4) with 12 points.

BREWER 70, LAWRENCE 53: Carter Smith scored 26 points and Matt Pushard added 25 to lead the host Witches to the Class A North win.

Mason Cooper scored 26 points to pace Lawrence (1-2) while J.T. Nutting added 12.

Brewer improved to 3-0.

FOREST HILLS 60, TEMPLE 48: Aaron Moffitt had 31 points and 22 rebounds to lead the host Tigers.

Dalton Gregoire added 11 points and nine assists for Forest Hills (4-1).

Temple (1-1) was led by Winn Kanagy with 13 points.

HAMPDEN 48, MT. BLUE 30: Nick Gilpin and Brendan McIntyre each scored 15 points apiece to pace the Broncos (3-0) to the Class A North win in Farmington.

Devon Hoyt led Mt. Blue (0-3) with 14 points while Zack Mittelstadt added 11 points and nine rebounds.

VALLEY 68, VINALHAVEN 37: Cody Laweryson scored 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers to the East/West Conference win in Vinalhaven.

Collin Miller added 16 points for Valley (3-0), while Luke Malloy had nine assists. Austin Cates had five assists for the Cavaliers.

Max Stanley led Vinalhaven (1-2) with eight points.

BOOTHBAY 57, MADISON 54: Abel Bryer scored 21 points and Carter Babcock added 11 to lead Boothbay to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Madison.

Jacob Leonard scored nine points for Boothbay (2-2) as well.

Chris Beaman scored a team-high 16 points to pace Madison (3-1). Devon Watt and Chase Malloy each added nine points.

WINSLOW 51, WATERVILLE 39: Heather Kervin scored a team-high 13 points and Ciara LeClair added 10 to pace the Black Raiders in Winslow.

Paige Trask chipped in with six points for Winslow (3-0) as well.

Jordan Jabar and Fotini Shanos each scored a game-high 14 points to lead Waterville (1-2).

RANGELEY 52, NORTH HAVEN 19: Blayke Morin scored a game-high 21 points to pace the Lakers to the East/West Conference win in Rangeley.

Maddison Egan added 13 points for Rangeley (2-1).

Jasmine Brown scored 12 points to pace North Haven (0-4).

FOREST HILLS 81, TEMPLE 49: Junior Caitlin Logston scored 42 points and Linda Riley added 21 to lead the Tigers in Jackman.

Logston is believed to have set a program record for most points in a game.

Patricia Lessard scored eight points for the Tigers (3-2) as well.

Kiara Carr scored 17 points and Deleyni Carr added 14 to lead Temple.

MESSALONSKEE 60, MEDOMAK 28: Sophie Holmes had 21 points and six steals to pace the Eagles to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A win in Waldoboro.

Ally Turner chipped in 10 points for Messalonskee (2-1) while Cassidy Baker and Lydia Dexter each added eight points.

Medomak (1-2) was led by Sophie Cohen with nine points.

SKOWHEGAN 44, ERSKINE 36: Sydney Reed scored 10 point to help the host Indians earn their first victory of the season.

Tracey Swanson and Annie Cooke each added nine points for Skowhegan (1-2).

Mallory Weaver paced Erskine (1-2) with eight points while Megan Dunn scored seven.

LAWRENCE 63, BREWER 42: Nia Irving had 16 points and 15 rebounds to pace the Bulldogs to the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Domi Lewis added 14 points for Lawrence (3-0) while Cameron Caldwell added 13 and Morgan Boudreau 11.

Haley Robertson and Becca Giroux led Brewer (2-1) with seven points apiece.
