JAY — Spruce Mountain missed a free throw with 4 seconds left in a tie game and Gardiner took advantage in overtime in a 68-64 win in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A boys basketball action Wednesday night.

Eli Fish had 16 points and seven rebounds to pace the Tigers (3-3), while Jordan Lamb had 11 points and 13 rebounds. Cole Heaberlin added 14 points and Brian Dunn chipped in with five points, eight rebounds and four steals.

Andrew and Austin Darling led the way for Spruce Mountain (2-4) with 16 points apiece.

HALL-DALE 75, ST. DOMINIC 15: The Bulldogs had 11 different players score points on their way to a Mountain Valley Conference win at Penny Memorial Gymnasium.

Freshman Ashton Abbott had 12 points to pace Hall-Dale (4-4) while Alec Byron and Nate Mills each scored 11 points.

Jake Bussieri finished with 12 points for St. Dom’s (0-7).

MARANACOOK 63, LEAVITT 54: Kent Mohlar scored 22 points and Kyle Wilbur 20 to lead Maranacook to the KVAC B win over Leavitt in Manchester.

The Black Bears (6-1) also got eight points from Hayden Elwell and seven points, nine rebounds and five steals from Levi Emery to pull away in the fourth quarter. Max Green led the Hornets (0-7) with 23 points.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

GARDINER 55, NOKOMIS 49: Mary Toman scored 14 points to lead the Tigers to the KVAC A win in Newport.

Lauren Chadwick added 13 points for Gardiner (5-1) while Leah Weymouth was also in double figures with 11.

Nokomis (4-3) was led by Chelsea Crockett with a game-high 17 points. Olivia Brown and Gabby Lord added eight points apiece.

LAWRENCE 75, ERSKINE 26: Nia Irving and Dominique Lewis combined to score 40 points and lead the Bulldogs to the KVAC A win.

Irving finished with 21 points while Lewis scored 19 for Lawrence (7-0). Camryn Caldwell was also in double figures with 11 points.

Erskine (2-5) was led by Malorie Weaver with eight points and Sydney Cummings with six.

LEAVITT 74, MARANACOOK 25: Leavitt raced out to a 16-1 lead and never let up to defeat Maranacook in a KVAC B win in Turner.

Sophia Gilbert led the Hornets (3-4) with 20 points while Allie Belaire added 18 and Chantel Eells 14. Jana Elwell and Grace Despres scored six points apiece to lead the Black Bears (0-7).

ST. DOMINIC 48, HALL-DALE 40: Chloe Dwinell scored 13 points to lead the Saints to the MVC win in Auburn.

Caroline Castonguay added six points for St. Dominic (4-3).

Kayla Johnson scored a game-high 14 points for the Bulldogs (2-6) while Dani sweet chipped in eight.
