The Coast Guard rescued a fishermen off the coast of Down East Maine on Monday after the man suffered an injury to his hand.
Nathan Murphy, a crewman on the 35-foot fishing vessel Latta II, was taken from the boat to the mainland by a 45-foot motor lifeboat crew stationed in Eastport.
The Coast Guard said Murphy injured his left hand while operating a winch. An ambulance crew from the Washington County Emergency Medical Service Authority met the Coast Guard boat at a pier in Deep Cove on Moose Island.
Murphy’s condition was not available Monday night. The accident was reported at 4:20 p.m.
