SOUTH CHINA — Zach Mittelstadt scored 14 of his 29 points in the fourth quarter to help the Mt. Blue boys basketball team erase an eight-point deficit and pull out a 42-39 win over Erskine in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Friday night. The Cougars (3-8) outscored the Eagles 17-6 in the quarter.

Erskine (3-8) was led by Trevor Hubbard and Noah Bonsant with 10 points apiece.

BREWER 55, MESSALONSKEE 49: Matt Pushard scored a game-high 17 points and Carter Smith added 14 to lead the Witches to the KVAC A victory in Oakland.

Colby Rogerson chipped in with 12 points for Brewer (12-1) as well.

James Lathrop scored 17 points and Nathan Violette added 15 to lead the Eagles (9-5).

BOOTHBAY 71, CARRABEC 47: Kyle Ames made five 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 19 points as the Seahawks earned the Mountain Valley Conference victory in North Anson.

Abel Bryar added 14 points for Boothbay (10-5), Austin Campbell notched 12 and Jacob Leonard added 11.

Dustin Crawford paced Carrabec (5-9) with 18 points in the loss.

LINCOLN 56, WINSLOW 52: Taylor Holmes scored a game-high 21 points to pace the Eagles to the KVAC B win in Newcastle.

Cody Tozier added 14 points for Lincoln (7-8) while Riley Cushing scored 13.

Winslow (8-6) was led by Keanu Earle with 15 points. Spencer Miranda added nine.

VALLEY 80, RANGELEY 35: Cody Laweryson finished with 39 points and 18 rebounds as the Cavaliers coasted to the East/West Conference win in Bingham.

Austin Cates added 17 points for Valley (14-0), which led 49-8 at halftime. Colin Miller added nine points and 16 rebounds while Luke Malloy chipped in with 12 assists.

Ricky Thompson and Kyle Larochelle recorded 13 and 10 points, respectively, for Rangeley (5-9).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

RANGELEY 46, VALLEY 23: The Lakers opened up a 20-point lead by halftime on their way to an East/West win in Bingham.

Blayke Morin poured in 15 points to pace Rangeley (13-1) while Sydney Royce chipped in with 12.

Kendra Sweet scored eight points in the loss for Valley (6-8).

MESSALONSKEE 55, BREWER 19: Sophie Holmes had 20 points and 12 rebounds to lift the Eagles in Brewer.

McKenna Brodeur added 14 points for Messalonskee (12-2) while Lydia Dexter hauled in eight rebounds.

Brewer (5-8) was led by Emily Lord and Rebecca Gideon with five points apiece.

LAWRENCE 77, CONY 40: Dominique Lewis scored 19 points to lift the Bulldogs to the KVAC A win in Augusta.

Nia Irving added 18 points for Lawrence (14-0) while Hunter Mercier had 14. Morgan Boudreau chipped in with 10.

Cate Silva scored 12 points to lead Cony (2-12). Autumn Sudsbury and Samantha Akers each had seven points.

MT. BLUE 40, SKOWHEGAN 38: Caitlin Kane had 20 points, six rebounds and five steals to spark the Cougars in Skowhegan.

Mackenzie Harris added nine points, seven rebounds and two blocks for Mt. Blue (5-7).

Skowhegan (5-8) was led by Lindsey Warren and Annie Cooke with nine points apiece.

UNIFIED BASKETBALL

WINSLOW 32, WATERVILLE 16: The Black Raiders picked up a win in their varsity debut against neighboring Waterville in Winslow.

Noah Gagne and Joey Kingsbury each finished with 10 points for Winslow (1-0), while Cheyanne Raymond chipped in with eight points.

Joseph Libby-Cornette and Nick Belanger scored four points apiece for Waterville (0-1).
