Winslow High School’s first Academic and Arts Night is scheduled for Wednesday, March 2, showcasing the best of WHS.

The evening will begin with the student showcase from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Mansfield Gymnasium. Parents, students, community members can do a self-directed tour of student projects from across the curriculum.

• Science

Projects from biology students on display. Poster displays will cover many DNA topics as well as biomimicry design projects, with a poster display of the biotechnology work that AP Biology did with Jackson Lab experiments earlier this year.

• Art

Student-led tour of WHS highlighting the displays of art hanging in the halls.

• Math

Water-testing project, with planet of exponents brochures.

• Foreign Language

Student work displaying in French and Spanish explaining the significance of taking a foreign language in high school. Chance to meet the foreign language teachers.

From 7 to approximately 8:30 p.m., the evening will end with the Thespian Society Induction, following by the Winslow Junior High School band performance and the WHS chorus performance. A 15-minute intermission is scheduled with concessions sold by the Performing Arts Boosters WHS One-Act Play for Competition “Tribunal.”
