In November 2015, Maine voters overwhelmingly approved a $15 million bond issue to provide housing for seniors with low incomes. These funds will be matched by approximately $22 million in federal housing support. Maine seniors desperately need affordable, decent housing. While the housing need exceeds the amount approved by the voters, nearly 70 percent of Maine voters approved this measure to provide help to our elder neighbors.

Gov, Paul LePage needs to release these funds immediately, and help seniors, and respect the will of the voters. Maine seniors are not a pawn in some political game.
