It’s rare that the newspaper prints anything favorable to Republicans. But the political cartoon on March 24 goes beyond the bounds of dishonesty.

It shows the United States as first in line sympathizing with the people of Belgium, with other countries following. In truthfulness, President Barack Obama was in Cuba meeting with a dictator and attending a baseball game. He gave a one-minute message of sympathy. After that, we see numerous pictures of him laughing and in other ways enjoying himself.

Why wasn’t he back in Washington offering military solutions? There’s no question that his and Secretary of State Clinton’s failure to lead in eliminating ISIS is partly to blame for the tragedy. But a cartoon suggesting he cares is insulting.
