Kingfield’s History Weekend will begin Friday, April 8. Student displays can be viewed between 1 and 3 p.m. or 5:30 and 7 p.m. at Kingfield Elementary School.

The Business History Open House is gaining momentum as 23 local businesses prepare their own local history for display from 10 am. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9. Pick up a checklist at any of the 23 participating businesses — visit each business and have your checklist validated. Return your checklist at Nostalgia Tavern between 12:30 and 7 p.m. to be eligible for three prize baskets.

There are three prize baskets with estimated values of $750, $500 and $150 including overnight stays, restaurants, retail certificates and more.

To finish off the weekend, a beard growing contest is set for 7 p.m., followed by the Lumberjack Ball. Prizes will be awarded at each event. The contest does not require preregistration for these categories: most creative, longest, softest, best mustache, and best goatee. If you did preregister for most hair grown, then come get your beard measured.

The Lumberjack Ball will feature the Tilden Katz Band at 9 p.m.
