USM 9, ST. JOSEPH’S 8: Winning pitcher Jake Dexter scored the winning run on a bases-loaded catcher’s interference call in the bottom of the eighth inning as the Huskies rallied past the Monks in a Division III non-conference baseball game.

USM trailed 6-3 and 8-5 but rallied to tie the game with three runs in the bottom of the seventh. Sam Dexter led off that inning with a home run while Brandon Martins had an RBI single and Nick DiBiase a game-tying triple.

In the bottom of the eighth, Jake Dexter led off with a walk. Following an out, Paul McDonough singled off the third baseman’s leg, with Jake Dexter going to third. The Monks then intentionally walked Sam Dexter to load the bases.
