The South End Neighborhood Association has partnered with Colby College and other community groups for a spring cleanup set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in the south end.

Every year SENA focuses on helping the elderly, disabled and other neighbors remove bulky waste and yard debris that are too large to be picked up by the regular trash disposal. Volunteers also pick up trash from city streets and public parks to spruce things up.

The organization can take large bulky items e.g., mattresses, chairs, , metal and major appliances, andyard waste like branches. Electronics will be taken to recycling.

Hazardous liquids like oil paint, pesticides, light bulbs, batteries and construction materials will not be picked up.

Donations are requested for materials that cost the association at the landfill.

Keep metal items separate. Trucks will be available to bring items to the dumpsters.

Call 877-5297 in advance to schedule a pick up.
