AUGUSTA — Maine Pottery Tour, a non-profit collective of potters throughout Maine, will celebrate ceramics by opening their studios to visitors from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. April 30 and 11 a.m.-4 pm. May 1.

St.arted in 2011 by Lori Watts at Fine Mess Pottery to educate the public and to provide an opportunity for Maine’s ceramic artists to open their studio doors Pottery Tour now boasts more than 35 participating studios that stretch across Maine.

Welcoming visitors and artists alike, this annual weekend is an opportunity for casual to serious ceramic enthusiasts to meet the artists, see demonstrations, peek into kilns, and shop for local handmade goods. Celebrating its
