AUGUSTA — Capital Area Technical Center recently announced its April Students of the Month.

Timietheus Edwards is a Cony High School senior enrolled in the Medical/Veterinarian Terminology program. He feels he has learned the basic root words of the medical field and that has prepared him for further education in the medical field. His instructor, Karen Parker, said “Timietheus is an ambitious young man that has been a leader and role model to his peers in the program. He is an organized, intelligent and caring young man that will excel in the medical field,” according to a news release from the center. Edwards has completed job shadows at MaineGeneral and Miles Memorial hospitals. He plans to pursue a career in radiology. He plans to attend Kennebec Valley Community College this fall.

Sara Tibbetts is an Erskine Academy senior enrolled in the Automotive Technology program. She feels she has learned about the many tools in the auto field and has refined her skills.

Her instructor, Joe Rabideau said “Sara is quietly consistent. She is dependable, always willing to help and takes great pride in her work. She is awesome,” according to the release. Recently Sara was buying auto parts and she was pleasantly pleased at the astonishment on the clerk’s face when she could easily answer specific questions about shock parts she needed to purchase.

Tibbetts plans to further her education in the automotive field and has a goal of rebuilding a classic car, such as a Camaro or Charger.
