FARMINGTON — A Children’s Book Week celebration is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Devaney Doak & Garrett Booksellers, 193 Broadway.

The annual celebration of children’s books and reading will include a Downtown Book Scavenger Hunt from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a big puzzle solving challenge with three prizes. The fastest five puzzlers will win a signed copy of the middle-grade novel “Book Scavenger,” by Jennifer Chambliss Bertman and a DDG gift certificate.

A Picture Book Bonanza is planned for 11 a.m.-1 p.m. with Two Great Hours, Three Great Maine Picture Book Authors, a read aloud and book signing. Guests will include Margy Burns Knight, author of “Talking Walls,” “Who Belongs Here,” and “Welcoming Babies!”; Fran Hodgkins, author of “The Secret Galaxy,” “Andre The Famous Harbor Seal,” and “Who’s Been Here A Tale in Tracks!”; and Eva Murray, author of “Island Birthday,” “Island Schoolhouse: One Room for All,” and “Well Out to Sea: Year-Round on Matinicus Island.”
