SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan softball team out-hit Hampden 9-3 on Wednesday but it was not enough as the Broncos prevailed 5-4 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game.

Grace Bennett had a pair of singles to pace Hampden (3-3) while Sydney Hatch scored the win in the circle.

Maliea Kelson had three hits for Skowhegan (2-4), Sydney Reed doubled and singled and Annie Worthen finished with a pair of singles.

RICHMOND 23, VALLEY 0, 5 innings: Meranda Martin had two hits and three RBIs and Sydney Tilton had three hits and drove in a pair as the Bobcats cruised to the East/West Conference victory. Cassidy Harriman also drove in three for the Bobcats (3-0). Valley dropped to 0-3.

BASEBALL

BREWER 11, LAWRENCE 1, 6 innings: Logan Rogerson had two doubles and a single to lead the Witches to the KVAC A victory.

Matt Pushard and John Wheaton also had a pair of hits for Brewer (2-4).

Lawrence dropped to 4-2.

GIRLS LACROSSE

LEWISTON 7, GARDINER 5: Kristina Blais scored four goals to the lead the Blue Devils to a KVAC win over the Tigers in Lewiston Tuesday.

Olivia Bergeron added two goals for Lewiston (3-0) in the win. Hailee Lovely and Maddy Beaulieu each scored twice to pace Gardiner (1-1).
