Morgan Peacock, of Canaan, was crowned Miss Maine Junior National Teenager by outgoing Miss Maine National Teenager Taylor Bartlett on April 29. She has been chosen to attend the 2016 America’s National Teenager Scholarship Organization, a program for gifted young women ages 9-25, hosted this year July 27- Aug 1. in Atlanta, Georgia, according to a news release from the organization.

Contestants who attend ANTSO have won their state representation through academic and community service.

The national event will include several days in competition, and city events. Winners will walk away with scholarships for college along with various other prizes. The shows will be at the Ferst Center for the Arts, Georgia Tech’s entertainment venue.

Peacock is a seventh-grade student at Carrabec Community School, and is the daughter of Danny and Sarah Harriman, of Canaan, and Darrell Peacock, of Clinton.
