The American Red Cross of Maine will honor six people — including three from central Maine — at a ceremony Tuesday to recognize “Real Heroes,” according to a news release from the organization.

Laura Benedict, of the Red Barn restaurant in Augusta, will be recognized for her fundraising campaigns to benefit local charities; Laurie Rumpf, of China, will be recognized for organizing local blood drives since 2009; and Trevor Hanna, of Oakland, will be recognized for saving the life of an 8-year-old boy who was involved in a car accident in Sidney.

The American Red Cross of Central and Mid Coast Maine Real Heroes Breakfast will be held from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Ramada Inn and Conference Center in Lewiston.
