SOUTH CHINA — The Gardiner softball team scored a run in the top of the seventh inning to snap a 2-2 game and went on to defeat Erskine 3-2 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Monday.

Mallory Bailey had three singles for the Tigers (4-4). Jillian Bisson went the distance for Gardiner, allowing just four hits.

Erskine dropped to 4-4.

MESSALONSKEE 2, LEWISTON 1, 9 innings: Kelsey Dillon hit a game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Messalonskee a thrilling victory in Oakland.

Sarah Labbe and Hannah Duperry singled in the ninth for Messalonskee (8-0) and advanced on a fielder’s choice by Taylor Easler, which set up Dillon’s game-winning hit.

Labbe, Duperry and Madisyn Charest each had two hits for the Eagles. Kirsten Pelletier picked up the win, striking out 16 with just one walk and three hits allowed.

Jordan Mynaham had two hits for Lewiston (6-3).

OAK HILL 11, WINTHROP 2: Oak Hill scored seven runs with two outs in the fourth inning to snap a tie game and cruise to the Mountain Valley Conference victory in Wales.

Winning pitcher Makayla Nadeau was 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Raiders (7-1). Emma Hlister had a triple, single and an RBI for the Raiders as well.

Shie Smith had a double and a triple for the Ramblers (2-3).

MONMOUTH 15, ST. DOMINIC 1, 5 innings: Rhiannon Dumond had two singles and drove in three runs to lead the Mustangs to the MVC victory. Mariah Herr also had a pair of hits for Monmouth (2-4).

St. Dominic dropped to 2-5.

CONY 12, BRUNSWICK 0 5 innings: Winning pitcher Skylar Watson, Cassie Turgeon and Sydney Cheever each had two hits to pace the Rams to the KVAC A victory in Brunswick.

Watson and Kari Hopkins combined to pitch a one-hitter for the Rams (6-2). Brunswick dropped to 1-7.

HALL-DALE 19, WISCASSET 5: Jill Whynot homered, doubled and singled to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC victory in Wiscasset. Becca Ackerson had four singles and Kailey Roberts earned her first victory of the season, allowing one run in four innings of work for Hall-Dale (4-3). Wiscasset dropped to 1-7.

BASEBALL

WINTHROP 6, OAK HILL 3: Jacob Hickey scattered five hits over seven inning and hit a double to help his own cause as Winthrop doubled up Oak Hill in an MVC game in Wales.

Hickey struck out five, walked three and allowed just one earned run to earn the complete-game victory. Matt Ingram tripled, Cameron Gaghan doubled and Connor Perkins had a two-run single for the Ramblers (2-4). Dalton Therrien doubled for the Raiders (1-6).

HALL-DALE 12, WISCASSET 1, 6 innings: Ryan Sinclair had a double, a single and four RBIs to lead the Bulldogs to the MVC victory in Wiscasset. Tyler Dubois had a double and two singles for Hall-Dale (6-2) as well.

Quinn Stebbins pitched the complete game, striking out eight and allowing just two hits.

Wiscasset dropped to 3-5.

MESSALONSKEE 10, LEWISTON 5: Tyler Lewis had three singles and two RBIs and Jared Cunningham had three hits to lead the Eagles to the KVAC A victory in Oakland. Josh Joy had three hits, including a double, and Connor Garland had a pair of hits for the Eagles (5-3).

Hunter Landry and Jack Leblond had two singles for the Blue Devils (3-6).

CONY 2, BRUNSWICK 0: Kolbe Merfeld tossed a four-hit shutout and stole home as Cony blanked Brunswick in a KVAC A pitchers duel in Brunswick.

Merfeld struck out three and walked two in seven innings. Cam Dunlop led the Rams (3-5) with two hits. Alex Larson allowed just five hits but took the loss for the Dragons (1-8).

GIRLS LACROSSE

ERSKINE 10, LAWRENCE 0: Audrey Jordan scored three goals and Kaitlyn Darveau added a pair to pace the Eagles in South China. Malorie Weaver had 14 saves to lead Erskine (4-1) as well.

Ashley Doyon had seven saves to lead the Bulldogs (0-5).
