FARMINGDALE — Madeline Wood led off the top of the sixth inning with a home run to right-center field to lift the Madison softball team to a 1-0 Mountain Valley Conference win over Hall-Dale in Farmingdale.

Wood also picked up the win in the circle for the Bulldogs (9-0), allowing just four hits and no walks while striking out eight.

Becca Ackerson took the loss for Hall-Dale (4-4) despite allowing just the one run on four hits, two walks and a hit batter to go along with 11 strikeouts.

ERSKINE 9, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 4: Taylor McLaggan had three singles, two RBIs and scored twice to lead the Eagles to the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B win in Jay.

Kayla Hodgkins earned the win in the circle for Erskine (5-4) and also had a double and a single with two RBIs.

Alexis Bessey had three singles for the Phoenix (3-5).

CARRABEC 16, ST. DOMINIC 0, 5 innings: Bailey Dunphy had a home run, a double, two singles and three RBIs to spark the Cobras to the MVC win in Auburn.

Paige Chadbourne and Lexi Cowan each hit a home run for Carrabec (6-3). Sam LeBeau earned the win in the circle and also tripled to help her own cause.

Allie Veinotte had a double for St. Dominic (2-6).

LINCOLN 18, WATERVILLE 12: Lincoln scored eight runs in the third inning as the teams combined to make 21 errors in KVAC B play in Waterville.

Margaret Skiff had three hits for Lincoln (4-4). Gabi Martin hit two doubles and a single for Waterville (1-7) while Katie Hurd added three hits.

CONY 21, LAWRENCE 9: Cony broke open a close game with 12 runs over the final two innings to take the KVAC A win in Fairfield.

Sydney Cheever hit two singles and a home run for Cony (7-2). Alexis Couverette singled and homered for the Rams, who pounded out 21 hits.

Lilly Herrin hit a single and double for Lawrence (2-7).

SKOWHEGAN 4, BREWER 2: Sydney Ames had two hits to lead the Indians to the KVAC A win in Brewer.

Ames also was the winning pitcher. Skowhegan (4-5) scored three runs in the first inning. Ally Chapman took the loss for Brewer (3-6).

WINSLOW 12, MCI 6: Liz Pullen had three hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs to help the Black Raiders earn the KVAC B win in Winslow.

Natalie Green and Ashley Lachance each drove in a pair of runs for Winslow (7-1), which led 8-0 after three innings.

Kali Doiron scored twice for MCI (1-7).

OCEANSIDE 10, NOKOMIS 7: Ari Curtis and Abby Veilleux each had a single and a double as the Mariners pounded out 12 hits in a win over the Warriors in Newport.

Brianna Dugan, Casey Pine and Kalyn Grover each had a pair of singles for Oceanside (9-0) in the win.

Libby Dunivan cranked a two-run homer in the fifth for Nokomis (6-3), while Audrey Davis, Aren Herrick and Austin Leighton each singled twice.

MONMOUTH 8, MT. ABRAM 2: Abby Ferland had a triple and a single to lift the Mustangs to the MVC win in Monmouth.

Tia Day added a double and a single for Monmouth (3-6).

Abby Holland and Megan Marble each had two singles for Mt. Abram (2-6).

BASEBALL

EDWARD LITTLE 1, MESSALONSKEE 0, 8 innings: The Red Eddies’ Jarod Plourde and Damien St. Pierre combined to shutout the Eagles for a KVAC A win in Oakland.

Colby Dexter had two hits for Messalonskee (5-4) in the loss, while Dylan Brown and Josh Joy each doubled. Edward Little improved to 9-0 with the win.

MONMOUTH 14, MT. ABRAM 1, 5 innings: Avery Pomerleau had two singles, three RBIs and scored three times to lift the host Mustangs to the MVC win.

Nick Sanborn added a double for Monmouth (9-0) while Gage Cote chipped in two singles.

Sean Allen took the loss for Mt. Abram (0-8).

WINSLOW 8, MCI 4: Jacob Trask had a double, a single and three RBIs to lead the host Black Raiders to the KVAC B win.

Spencer Miranda added a double and a single for Winslow (7-1) while Ben Smith, Dameron Rodrigue and Tanner Jackson each had two singles.

Greg Vigue had a double and a single for MCI (1-7) and Nate Tilton a double.

OXFORD HILLS 13, MT. BLUE 2, 5 innings: Matt Smith had a double and two singles to spark the Vikings to the KVAC A win in Farmington.

Hunter Labossiere, Emery Chickering and Jake Spinhirn each had two singles for Oxford Hills (6-3).

Mt. Blue (1-8) was led by Ethan Andrews with two singles.

WATERVILLE 3, LINCOLN 2: Cam Denis’ single in the bottom of the sixth inning scored Adam Barre with the go-ahead run, lifting the Purple Panthers to their fifth consecutive win.

Dalton Wood struck out five and walked three for the win. Cody Pellerin had two hits for Waterville (5-3). Hunter Williams took the loss for Lincoln (1-6).

ERSKINE 9, SPRUCE MTN. 2: Dylan Presby homered and Andrew Brown knocked three singles as Erskine pounded out 13 hits to defeat Spruce Mountain.

Calen Barden and Cody Beaudoin had two hits apiece for the Eagles (6-3). Noah Bonsant and Zack Glidden combined on the mound to scatter seven hits for Erskine. Nate Goodine had a double for the Phoenix (2-6).

MT. BLUE 7, LINCOLN 4: Reid Wells and Joe Bowering scored two goals apiece as Mt. Blue defeated Lincoln Academy in a KVAC tilt.

Wells also had two assists for the Cougars (3-2), while Alex Gilbert made 18 saves in net. Nat Simmons scored all four goals for the Eagles (2-4).

MESSALONSKEE 15, LEWISTON 10: Dylan Jones had four goals and Dylan Burton added three goals and an assist to spark the Eagles to the win in Oakland.

Will Weeks, Connor Smith and Jack Bernatchez added two goals apiece for Messalonskee (4-2) while Austin Pelletier and Devon Pickett had one goal each. Dawson Charles made seven saves.

Alex Rivet scored five goals for Lewiston (5-2). Brian Wagg stopped 11 shots.
