WATERVILLE — The Waterville baseball team raced out to a 6-2 lead then held off a Belfast rally in the seventh to earn a 6-5 victory in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Friday.

Cody Pellerin had two hits and drove in three runs, and Adam Barre doubled and had two RBIs for Waterville (8-4).

Zach Dyer had two doubles to lead Belfast (8-4).

MESSALONSKEE 5, MT. BLUE 1: Jared Cunningham had a double, a single and three RBIs to spark the Eagles to the KVAC A win in Oakland.

Dylan Brown chipped in with two singles for Messalonskee (7-6).

Mt. Blue (2-11) was led by Ryan Pratt and Corey Rogers with two singles.

NOKOMIS 14, MEDOMAK VALLEY 0, 5 innings: Mike Massow tossed a five-inning no-hitter to lead the Warriors to the KVAC B win in Newport.

Massow struck out five and walked two. Brad Allen had a double and a single for Nokomis (6-7) while Josh Perry, Zach Hartsgrove, Cody Rice, Colby Pinnette and Massow each had two singles.

Medomak Valley fell to 4-8.

MADISON 12, MT. ABRAM 2, 5 innings: The Bulldogs scored eight runs in the third inning en route to the Mountain Valley Conference win in Salem.

Sean Whalen was 2 for 2 with a double and four runs scored for Madison, while Chase Malloy added two hits and two RBIs of his own.

Evan Bess and Devon Watt each drove in to runs in the victory as well.

CAMDEN HILLS 12, LAWRENCE 2 , 6 innings: Camden Hills pounded out 13 hits to defeat Lawrence in Rockport.

Brandon Fisher and Cole Anderson led the Windjammers (4-9) with two hits. Derek Bowen had two hits for the Bulldogs (7-6), including a double.

SOFTBALL

MADISON 19, MT. ABRAM 2, 5 innings: Winning pitcher Madeline Wood hit for the cycle, going 5 for 5 with four RBIs as the Bulldogs rolled to the MVC victory in Salem.

Wood struck out eight and allowed just one hit. Kayla Bess went 4 for 5 with a home run and six RBIs and Whitney Bess went 2 for 4 and drove in a pair for Madison (13-0).

Summer Ross doubled for the Roadrunners (3-9).

OCEANSIDE 6, ERSKINE 0: Ari Curtis and Alexis Mazurek each doubled to pace the Mariners to the KVAC B win in Rockport.

Oceanside improved to 12-0. Erskine fell to 7-6.

BELFAST 10, WATERVILLE 3: Vanessa Grotton had a double and a triple to lead a balanced Belfast offense in Waterville.

Anna Simmons had two hits and Macey Gale pitched a complete game to pace the Lions (4-9) as well.

Waterville dropped to 1-10.

NOKOMIS 4, MEDOMAK 1: Audrey Davis and winning pitcher Libby Dunivan each doubled as the Warriors picked up a key KVAC B victory.

Dunivan struck out seven and pitched a complete game for Nokomis (10-3).

Gabrielle DePatsy and Vanessa Rancourt each had two hits for the Panthers (8-4).

MESSALONSKEE 7, MT. BLUE 1: Kirsten Pelletier struck out 15 while allowing just five singles and one unearned run as Messalonskee defeated Mt. Blue in a KVAC A game played in Oakland.

Hannah Duperry had three hits, including a double, and Sarah Labbe added a home run for the Eagles (12-0-1). The Cougars dropped to 3-10.

CARRABEC 6, DIRIGO 0: Sam LeBeau allowed four hits and three walks while striking out nine to shut out Dirigo in North Anson.

Bayle Atwood led the Cobras (9-4) with two hits, including a two-run double. Bailey Dunphy had two singles and scored two runs.

LAWRENCE 12, CAMDEN HILLS 5: Haley Holt led Lawrence’s 13-hit attack with three hits, including a double, as the Bulldogs defeated Camden Hills in Rockport.

Lauren Watson, Llly Herrin, Souther Bickford, Lauren Lambert and Sammy Marshall all had two hits apiece for the Bulldogs (3-10). Marshall allowed five hits and took the win in the circle.

BUCKFIELD 14, TEMPLE 0, 6 innings: Winning pitcher Julia Dow tossed a one-hitter with six strikeouts in an East/West Conference game in Buckfield.

Alexis Bennett had two hits — including a double — for Temple (10-3) while Bri Danon homered.

Jaimee Feugill tripled for the lone Temple (4-4) hit.
