BINGHAM — Upper Kennebec Valley High School recently announced its valedictorian and salutatorian for the class of 2016.

Jordan Belanger, daughter of Paul and Wendy Belanger, of Moscow, is valedictorian.

Belanger played basketball for Valley for four years, where she was captain her junior and senior year.

She also trains year round in dressage and show jumping. She competes with the Maine Dressage Society.

She is the recipient of the 2016 Maine Principal’s Association award and chosen as the Phi Beta Kappa recipient for 2015. She was named to the National Honor Society as a sophomore, where she served as president her senior year.

Belanger is involved with her class and serves as vice president. She plans to attend the University of Maine in the fall to study mechanical engineering.

Collin Miller, son of Allen and Lisa Miller, of Bingham, is salutatorian.

Miller is a four-sport athlete, playing soccer, golf, basketball and baseball for Valley High School, and serving as a captain for soccer, basketball and baseball. He was named an East-West All-Star in soccer, golf and basketball.

Miller is a member of the National Honor Society and recipient of the Saint Michael’s Book Award for 2015.

He plans to join the Navy.
