SKOWHEGAN — Marcus Christopher had two hits and drove in two runs to support a strong a pitching performance from Brendan Curran as the Skowhegan baseball team sank Mt. Blue 7-0 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A game Tuesday. Curran struck out nine and allowed just three hits to earn the shutout.

Kyle Dugas and Isaac Witham each doubled for Skowhegan (9-7) as well. Mt. Blue finished 2-14.

WATERVILLE 8, OCEANSIDE 6: Dalton Wood came on in relief in the third inning and held the Mariners scoreless over the final four innings as the Purple Panthers earned the KVAC B win.

Wood, Andrew Roderigue and Alex Maheux all doubled as part of multiple-hit days for Waterville (11-5). Oceanside dropped to 11-5 with the loss.

RANGELEY 14-7, TEMPLE 3-6: Bo Beaulieu laid down a sacrifice bunt with one out in the bottom of the seventh of Game 2 to score Zack Trafton and lift the Lakers to an East/West Conference doubleheader sweep of Temple in Rangeley.

Trafton finished the day with five hits — including a pair of doubles — for Rangeley (8-5). Ricky Thompson homered in each half of the doubleheader.

For Temple (2-12), Carter Lambert, Tristan Richards and David Claybrook each had two hits in the second game.

MESSALONSKEE 4, CONY 1: Josh Joy gave up four hits to earn the win as the Eagles closed the regular season with a KVAC A victory in Augusta.

Joy also doubled for Messalonskee (9-7). Connor Perry had two singles for Cony (6-10).

NOKOMIS 11, MOUNT VIEW 1, 5 innings: Zach Hartsgrove had a pair of hits as the Warriors prevailed in Newport.

Brad Allen tripled for Nokomis (9-7). Josh Perry struck out eight for the win. Cole Hannan tripled for Mount View (4-12).

HAMPDEN 7, LAWRENCE 4: The Broncos scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth en route to the KVAC A win in Hampden.

Alex McKenney hit two doubles and picked up the win on the mound for Hampden (8-8).

Devon Webb and Derek Bowen each had two hits for Lawrence (9-7), which scored all four of its runs in the second inning.

SOFTBALL

MT. BLUE 7, SKOWHEGAN 5: Mt. Blue scored four runs in the fifth and two in the seventh to rally over Skowhegan.

Olivia Ryan and Kayleigh Fontaine belted a triple and single apiece for the Cougars (5-11). Bonnie-Jane Aiken doubled and Eliza Bedard tripled for the Indians (9-7).

RICHMOND 15, VALLEY 0, 5 innings: The Bobcats plated 11 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning in an East/West win in Richmond.

Sydney Tilton had two hits — including a double — and five RBIs to pace Richmond (15-0) while Kelsea Anair finished with two singles and a double. Meranda Martin added three singles and two RBIs.

Charlie Savoy and Samantha West had the lone hits for Valley (1-13).

NOKOMIS 14, MOUNT VIEW 6: Libby Dunivan had three singles and picked up the win in the circle in a KVAC B game in Newport.

Austin Leighton added two singles and a triple for Nokomis (12-4) while Macy Leali and Aren Herrick each singled twice.

Abigail Smith led Mount View (7-9) with three singles.

WINSLOW 15, BELFAST 2, 6 innings: Jenna Petrovic had a double, home run, three runs scored and two RBIs as the Black Raiders rolled in Belfast.

Kiana Richards added two singles and four RBIs for Winslow (15-1) while Cassie Demers finished with three singles, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Mariah Sturgis paced Belfast (4-12) with a pair of singles.

LAWRENCE 5, HAMPDEN 4: Haley Holt finished with two singles and a double, and the Bulldogs held on for a KVAC A win in Hampden.

Camryn Caldwell added a pair of singles for Lawrence (5-11). Abby Lord and Paige Yost each had two hits for Hampden (8-8).

GIRLS TENNIS

NO. 8 ERSKINE 3, NO. 9 ELLSWORTH 2: Top two singles players Ellie Hodgkin and Jordan Bowie each won their matches in straight sets as the Eagles advanced to the Class B North quarterfinals.

Samantha BeDen and Cassandra Ray teamed up for a 6-4, 6-2 win over Avery Jester and Kelsie Boyer to give Erskine (6-7) the final point it needed to clinch the match victory.

BOYS LACROSSE

MT. BLUE 11, OXFORD HILLS 9: Joe Bowering scored four goals and added an assist, while Reed Wells had a goal and five assists to lead the Cougars to the KVAC A win in South Paris.

Devon Hoyt also scored twice for Mt. Blue (5-7), and Alec Gilbert made 14 saves to earn the victory. Finn Williamson scored four times for Oxford Hills (2-10).

MESSALONSKEE 18, GARDINER 7: Dylan Jones and Connor Smith each scored four goals to pace the Eagles to a KVAC win at Thomas College in Waterville.

Austin Pelletier added two goals and two assists for Messalonskee (9-3) while Jack Bernatchez scored two goals as well. Will Weeks finished with one goal and three assists in the win.

Connor Manter had three goals and an assist to pace Gardiner (5-7) while Warren Karlberg made 11 saves.

WINSLOW 12, LAWRENCE 8: Hunter McCaslin and David Selwood each notched a hat trick to lead Winslow past Lawrence in Fairfield.

Jacob Houghton and Jimmy Fowler added two goals apiece while Nick Gurney made 19 saves in net for the Black Raiders (8-4). Connor Martin led the Bulldogs (5-7) with four goals, while Max Marin and Gunner McAllister added two apiece. Aidan Strickland made 19 saves in net.
