A North Berwick woman died Wednesday night in Lebanon after her car overturned and she went into cardiac arrest.

Gloria Dubois, 65, was driving south on Little River Road around 9:30 p.m. when she lost control of her car, according to Maine State Police. Dubois’ car entered a private driveway, struck a fence and tree and then overturned.

Dubois was alert but trapped in the vehicle when medical personnel arrived at the scene, police said. After being freed, she went into cardiac arrest and could not be revived.

Police say family members told them Dubois may have been suffering from a medical condition prior to the crash.

Trooper Michael Lane is investigating the crash and will continue to work with the State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of the crash and the woman’s death.
