Two people were killed and another was taken by LifeFlight helicopter to an area hospital following a motor vehicle crash Saturday morning in the Piscataquis County town of Parkman. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the accident.

Dispatcher Dan Lemik at the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Office said the single vehicle crash happened at about 12:45 a.m. Saturday on North Dexter Road in Parkman, a town on the Piscataquis/Somerset County line. Three occupants were in the car at the time of the crash. Two were pronounced dead, a third was airlifted to an area hospital.

The investigation is ongoing, Lemik said Saturday afternoon, and no other information was available. The names of the people involved in the crash and the type of motor vehicle involved were unavailable.
