I have known Rep. Henry Beck, D-Waterville, and the work he does for central Maine nearly his entire life.

Adults of all ages need access to affordable higher education that prepares them for good jobs here in Maine. That’s why Beck fought so hard on behalf of Kennebec Valley Community College in Fairfield. When KVCC announced that it was stopping enrollment in its allied health programs, Beck was right there to advocate for emergency funding to keep the programs going. These programs enable area hospitals to fill important jobs with local people rather than hiring from out of state. Beck knows that in our communities jobs in health care that pay well are essential, especially as Mainers get older and need more quality care.

Beck is consistently a strong voice for us — for our students, schools, hospitals and businesses.

His track record of effectiveness has earned him my full support. It has been an honor to have him as my state representative and now I look forward to voting for him for state Senate in November. I urge everyone in Albion, Benton, Clinton, Fairfield, Waterville, Winslow, and Unity Township who cares about education, heath care, and a healthy economy to do the same.
