U.S. Sen. Susan Collins has announced that Isaac Gingras, an Augusta native, has been awarded a summer internship in her Augusta Constituent Service Center.

Gingras is the son of Joyce Noel Taylor and David Gingras, according to a news release from Collins’ office in Washington, D.C.

“Isaac is a terrific student and a hard worker, and I am delighted to welcome him to my Augusta Constituent Service Center,” said Collins in the release. “I am always delighted to give students an opportunity to become actively involved in the legislative process and to serve the citizens of Maine.”

Gingras is a junior at St. Lawrence University, where he plans to major in government and minoring in French.

Upon graduation, he aspires to pursue a career in public service by working for the government or a member of Congress.
