WATERVILLE — Inland Hospital will kick off its 5th, year-long LET’S GO! Family Fun Series between 1 and 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at North Street Playground.

This free, family-friendly event will include interactive booths promoting the 5-2-1-0 healthy habits, a family walk featuring a musical petting zoo and other activities along the Messalonskee Stream, a climbing wall, games, healthy snacks, prizes, giveaways and more.

The 4th year-long series of monthly events will wrap up in August with nearly 400 families participating — from warm weather activities like kite flying, biking and hiking, to all things winter including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, sledding, and winter biking.

The 2015-16 series also coordinated local events with state-wide annual happenings like Open Farm Day and Great Maine Outdoor Weekend.

The LET’S GO! Celebration and Family Fun Walk on Sept. 17 will launch a new series of free monthly events for the 2016-17 series that includes Healthy Kids Day and features new collaborative events including a Move More Kids Day and the Quarry Road Trails Fall Festival.

Collaborating partners for the program include the Alfond Youth Center and Waterville Parks & Recreation with LET’S GO! Somerset, Waterville Creates!, Kiwanis, and many other organizations and volunteers joining Inland to link families to free and low cost activities that encourage life-long healthy habits.
